What began as a modest lakefront cottage on Oxbow Lake in White Lake Township, Michigan, was completely transformed through a whole-home renovation and major addition into a custom lake home designed for year-round living. The project included a 1,200-square-foot second-story addition with two additional bedrooms, a full bath, and a spacious bonus room, while the existing home was reimagined with a luxurious primary suite, two fireplaces, and a dramatic two-story entry highlighted by hand-hewn timber beams.
Expansive windows were added throughout the home to capture breathtaking views of Oxbow Lake, filling the interior with natural light and creating a seamless connection between the custom kitchen, great room, and waterfront. New exterior finishes, natural stone accents, and timeless architectural details gave the home a completely refreshed look while complementing its lakeside setting.
This custom lakefront renovation in White Lake TWP transformed a small dated cottage into a warm, welcoming retreat that blends rustic craftsmanship, modern comfort, and beautiful lake views for every season.
