Matt and Lisa Whelan truly exemplify a servant’s heart with both the team they have put together and the business and reputation they have built in Matt’s hometown of Milford Michigan. Matt has always been interested in building things. Even at a young age with his dad, and later joining his brother’s construction company, he always had a great vision of what could be. Lisa has a true gift for making things beautiful and pouring her heart and soul into both the projects she is working on and the people she is working with. Together, they created an award-winning custom design/build construction company that has been recognized as one of the best in Oakland and Livingston counties and surrounding communities.
Over the 30 plus years in the custom home and remodeling business, the M.J. Whelan Construction team has lived up to our mission of ‘creating beautiful things with a passion to change lives’. Whether a new build or remodel, we strive to design and build homes that are as stunning as they are functional. Our sales staff, designers and project coordinators will guide you through the exciting and perhaps daunting task of creating a home that exceeds your expectations. Our strategy is simple; we listen, advise and lead (assist) you through the many design options and selection decisions needed to set a project up for success.
Our construction staff is equally caring and helpful throughout the actual building phase of the process. With decades of combined experience, expertise, and a commitment to excellence and communication, the External Team will literally do all the dirty work that is necessary to build or remodel your new home and turn the dream into reality. Our on-site superintendents and carpenters take pride in every project that they are a part of and their passion shows in the craftsmanship & quality they produce.
