This Middle Straits Lake home was redesigned and expanded with an 800-square-foot addition, creating the perfect blend of classic cottage character and modern living. Designed to feel as though it had always been part of the original home, the addition includes a spacious custom kitchen, mudroom and laundry room, second-story bedroom, and an expanded garage with space for the family boat.
Inside, the kitchen features hand-distressed custom cabinetry, cherry hardwood floors in a herringbone pattern, a farmhouse-style island with a hammered copper sink, and expansive Andersen windows that frame beautiful lake views. A cozy coffee and wine bar, custom barn doors, and carefully selected architectural details add warmth and character throughout.
The result is a thoughtfully designed lakefront renovation and addition that blends classic cottage character with modern comfort, creating a home that feels as though it has always belonged on the shores of Middle Straits Lake. Home addition and interior renovation – West Bloomfield, Michigan
