Welcoming Timberframe Porch

As part of a whole house renovation, the homeowners also wanted to address a nagging flaw in their current floor plan. The front door was not conveniently located to the driveway and caused confusion for visitors - a side door was often used by guests instead. Therefore, the renovation of this home also included a large front porch addition integrated into the new front gable.  Massive timbers were hoisted to create a welcoming covered walkway. Large stone piers, a rustic wood ceiling and siding complete the comfortable lodge-like entrance. The new porch is accented with a contemporary cable railing, new lighting and a stunning new front door. The side entrance was also updated making it seem more private, and less accessible to visitors. The end result is dramatic and inviting.  Friends and family are drawn to this grand entrance –  no more mistaken back door. Exterior Remodeling Milford, Michigan
