Whole House Renovation and Addition - This 1960’s lakefront home has undergone a very dramatic  transformation. The entire home was re-designed and was expanded to meet the needs of this family. Virtually every area of the house was renovated. The interior space of the home features a whole new floor plan. At the heart of the home is a new great room with vaulted ceilings and a stunning new kitchen. Brookhaven cabinets, granite & Cumari hardwood flooring create a transitional style kitchen. A large master suite and new laundry room and bath also complete the main level. Three new bedrooms on a new 2nd story addition make this new home functional and practical for a busy family. Whole House Renovation and Addition - This ordinary house in Oakland County was redesigned and dramatically transformed into a stately Georgian Colonial style home. The exterior is all brick, has 5 chimneys, 6 dormers and many other architectural features. The new floor plan features a grand foyer, a new kitchen and a master suite among many other changes to create an open and functional layout. The living space was expanded by adding a 2-story addition to the front, rear and south elevations. A breezeway and carriage style garage with a bonus room was added to the north end. The front elevation addition features a beautiful new porch with stone balusters and a courtyard. Continued below.

Whole House Renovation and Addition continued - The back of this Georgian style home is as spectacular as the front.  A 2 story addition was also added to the back to include a new kitchen and breakfast nook. A large terrace with stone pilasters that extends over the basement walkout patio was also part of the design. Brick piers rise from the lower level to the main level terrace and are joined by beautiful archways that add to the magnificent architecture. The basement was finished to include a theater room, wine cellar, bar, game room and much more. The new basement design opens up to a glorious new Gunite swimming pool and spa, complete with stone work, landscaping, landscape lighting, fireplace, all melding with the architectural style of this gorgeous home. Whole House Remodel And Exterior Remodel - This charming lakefront home is oozing with curb appeal. This exterior renovation was done using James Hardi Plank siding and shakes, Carolina ledgestone and all new Pella windows. What truly sets this home apart are the decorative gable trellis's that were designed by M.J. Whelan's design team. Our carpenters custom built and installed these unique pieces on all the peaks of the home, adding a very unique architectural element to the facade. An old disintegrating chimney was demolished and rebuilt. The new chimney design included BucksCounty ledgestone. Whole House Remodel and Addition - This Lakefront home on a concrete slab was dramatically improved by moving all mechanicals to new location provided by bonus room storage trusses, giving the new floor plan a more desirable use of space. Garage addition allowed for the original garage to be converted into an exercise room, main bath and laundry room. The kitchen was newly renovated using Kitchen Craft Maple cabinetry, granite and hardwood flooring. The living room, formal dining room, office were also remodeled. Whole House Remodel and Exterior Facelift - After building a stunning carriage style garage and transforming most of the interior of this already beautiful Milford home, it was time to give some attention to the front facade. Through thoughtful design, planning and detailing, the exterior's most beautiful features were enhanced. Architectural touches, such as boxing out the windows and wrapping them in rich limestone, installing more brick and fieldstone are just a few of the changes on the exterior of this home. The entryway is inviting and welcoming with a new courtyard with tumbled brick pavers and a 2 story archway wrapped in limestone. Lakefront Remodel and Garage Addition - This home remodeling project included adding height and architecture to the home by redesigning the roof system to provide balance and update the wide facade. A 3rd car garage addition was added. Pillars and a archway set off the front entryway that was bumped out into a new courtyard. The chimney was extended to accommodate the new roof. Whole House Remodel - This newly renovated waterfront home is brimming with timeless charm The entire garage with its slab, the east end of the home, along with several interior walls were demolished to accommodate the new design.  New cedar siding and shakes wrap the entire cottage style home.  Included in this lakefront makeover is a new attached garage with a large bonus room. Whole House Remodeling - After a fire gutted the majority of this Highland home, this entire house needed to be remodeled from top to bottom. M.J. Whelan completely redesigned the home to meet the needs of this large family. 1900 more sq. feet were added along with many new features. The 3900 square-foot home design incorporates cedar shakes and siding with open timbers and stone exterior. This home has 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a great room with a fireplace, a large master suite, a media room, home office, as well as multiple living spaces. Fire Restoration and Addition  - This lakefront home had its living room destroyed by a fire. The new living room was redesigned to take advantage of the beautiful views of the lake and add seating. The old fireplace was relocated to the south side of the room to allow for a wall of new windows to open up the view the lake. The window wall was bumped-out to create a large window seat, not only brighten up the space, but to add abundant stoage. On the interior, custom trim moldings, specialty arched cornices and raised panels were hand milled and built in M.J. Whelan’s custom woodworking shop. The new exterior design includes a new angled entryway, a 2^nd level double gable, and a new garage entrance. Cultured stone, composite decking, Hardi-plank siding and several new windows help to transform this traditional home.
